NZ語学研修 Blogpost13

Hi, I'm Yuki. Today, we went to Willowbank to see kiwis.

Yesterday, in our ESOL lesson, we learned that the kiwi is the national bird of New Zealand.
Willowbank is a place with lots of birds, where ducks and chickens roam freely.

Kiwis are nocturnal, so they were in a dark hut.
They were many times bigger than I had expected, and they were fast.

Tomorrow, we will be doing kiwi cooking.
When I first heard "kiwi cooking," I was surprised because I thought it was a dish made with the bird. (Actually, "kiwi" is also a word used to refer to people living in New Zealand.)
